In February 2009, Infosys and the National Institute for Advanced Studies (NIAS) presented the first Infosys Prize for Mathematics to Prof. Manindra Agrawal, N. Rama Rao Chair Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. With effect from 2010, the prize will be presented as the Infosys Prize in the Mathematical Sciences category.
Each category of the Infosys Prize is presided over by a Jury Chair. A number of individual jurors work closely with the jury chair in each category. For the Infosys Prize 2010, the jury chairs are:
PHYSICAL SCIENCES: Prof. Shrinivas Kulkarni - John D. & Catherine T. McArthur Professor of Astronomy & Planetary Science at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech)
MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES: Prof. Srinivasa S. R. Varadhan - Professor of Mathematics and Frank J. Gould Professor of Science at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University
ENGINEERING AND COMPUTER SCIENCE: Prof. Subra Suresh - Dean of the School of Engineering and Ford Professor of Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology
LIFE SCIENCES: Prof. Inder Verma - Professor and American Cancer Society Professor Laboratory of Genetics at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies
SOCIAL SCIENCES AND ECONOMICS: Prof. Amartya Sen - Lamont University Professor, Professor of Economics and Philosophy at Harvard University, and winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1998
The winners of the Infosys Prize in each category are selected through a process of nomination and subsequently shortlisted by a jury comprised of distinguished practitioners in that respective discipline. Each category will have a panel of jurors presided by a Jury Chair.
Nominations for all categories of the Infosys Prize open on March 15, 2010. Selected nominators will receive an email from the Infosys Science Foundation containing a username and password, which may be used to gain access to the dedicated website.
The last date for submission of nominations has been extended to June 21, 2010. For more information on the nomination criteria, please refer to the STATUTES section.

Anyone who has been invited to nominate can nominate a candidate in any category as long as the nomination is submitted in the prescribed format and the candidate meets the specified criteria.

No, self-nomination is not allowed. The candidate must be nominated by a peer or colleague.
You may review, change or cancel your nomination by logging into our website any time before June 21, 2010. After this date, the system will not allow you to make any changes to your nomination.
Yes, you can re-nominate a candidate you have nominated in any previous cycle of the Infosys Prize. Please update the nomination information of the candidate. A laureate of the Infosys Prize cannot be re-nominated.

An email invitation is sent only to selected recipients. If you feel that you have not received your email invitation due to an error, please inform us at ISF@infosys.com.
Nominations are not considered complete without the candidate’s CV. The same must be uploaded along with your nomination as either Microsoft Word or PDF documents. If you are sending the nomination by post, the candidate’s CV must be appended along with your nomination form.
